Datça Peninsula and the Gökova Gulf Crossing
This is the route for sailors. Departing Adaköy, you sail west to Datça town, then push on to the ancient ruined city of Knidos at the very tip of the peninsula. You then make the exhilarating crossing of the Gulf of Gökova to Çökertme, before visiting Orak Island and the Seven Islands. The route concludes with a call at Serçe Limanı before the return to Adaköy.

The big crossing: sail north across the Gulf of Gökova to the fishing village of Çökertme. Early start essential -- depart by 07:00.

Short sail to Orak Island, famous for brilliant turquoise water. Full day swimming and snorkelling.

Final sail home to Adaköy. Afternoon check-out. Friday night aboard available.

Practical tips
Gökova crossing: 30 nm open water -- depart Knidos at 07:00. Meltemi blows NW in summer. Knidos: anchor in south harbour only (north is too exposed). Route recommended for experienced sailors; skipper available on request. Datça town has the last good supermarket -- provision well.
